The award ceremony for the 2019 Carnival trophies and the trophies for the best carnival-themed shop window took place today in the presence of Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice, accompanied by deputies Rudy Salles, Nicole Merlino, and Franck Martin.
The Winners
The Mayor of Nice revealed the winners of the 1st edition of the “Best Carnival Window Contest.”
- Prize for the best carnival-themed window: L’Imaginarium – 20 rue Bonaparte in Nice
Prize for the 2nd best carnival-themed window: Bain de Soleil – 2 rue Alexandre Mari in Nice
Prize for the 3rd best carnival-themed window: Innoverto – 18 rue Miron in Nice

Urban Comfort – 139 bd Gambetta
The prize for the best carnival-themed staging:
- Girofle et Cannelle – 2/4 rue Pairolière
Other merchants were also rewarded.
What theme for the 2020 edition?
The next edition of the Nice Carnival will take place from Saturday, February 15 to Saturday, February 29, 2020, on the theme “King of Fashion.” Christian Estrosi announced that the large clearance sale and the window contest would return, and that a fashion week with fashion shows in all neighborhoods, to highlight the Nice trade, will be organized.
On the occasion of the European Heritage Days on September 20, 21, and 22, 2019, the Halle Spada, where part of the floats are built and where the costume workshop is located, will be open to the public.
Finally, Christian Estrosi announced that Nice is going to become a major carnival production center worthy of its history and fame, which will include, in addition to float makers’ workshops, carnival artists, costume designers, a documentation center, and a museum space.
