The showdown between the Foundation and the CHU has given way to a compromise that leaves the Lenval Foundation and its activities with significant strategic importance in the city’s pediatric hub.
The consolidation of the pediatric services in Nice is particularly ambitious as it combines a public university hospital center and a private establishment, ensuring public hospital service.
The signing of the protocol on May 3, 2013, which gave birth to a private nonprofit healthcare facility (ESPIC) Nice pediatric hospitals CHU-LENVAL, was crucial for the future, ensuring care missions, as well as teaching and research.
The new statutes of the Lenval Foundation were approved on May 14. They replace those that had been in effect since the Foundation was recognized as being in the public interest over 120 years ago. These new statutes synthesize the Foundation’s values, objectives, and initial organizational methods with the provisions agreed upon between it and the Nice CHU in 2013.
The project by 2017 is for Nice to have the only multidisciplinary pediatric hub between Marseille and Genoa.
A page is turned, now it is about writing new chapters.

With unanimous approval of the Board of Directors, the President appointed Mr. Arnaud POUILLART, General Director of the Lenval Foundation. He will assume his new duties upon the departure of Mr. Bernard LECAT, the current General Director, on the next June 30th.
