โLife, death, we come in, we go out, that’s all,โ sings Michel Sardou. It is the book of time, a book in four indispensable chapters for every living being: being born, growing up, aging, dying. No one can change their sentence, skip a line, a paragraph! It’s not easy to tackle this topic with children, and yet itโs life, their life.
Based on the exhibition “The Meaning of Life: Being Born, Growing Up, Aging, Dying,” presented at the media library, Jalmalv “offers children aged 5 to 9 the chance to express themselves, experiment, talk about life and death with adults, ask questions and play,” explains Martine Binda, Vice-President of Jalmalv. โItโs an enjoyable and interactive exhibition: children can touch everything on display. It allows initiating a dialogue on subjects that are not always easy to approach and where adults often feel helpless,โ she continues, โin this exhibition, indeed, it is offered to play at living. This game is the occasion to talk, either during the visit or afterwards, at school or at home. Itโs not the truth that causes anxiety, but the lies, the unspoken words, the secrets.โ
After the games that allow understanding four life moments, children will open the door to storytelling to embark on dreams and exchange with the stars of time.
The exhibition of “the whirlwind of life” will close on Saturday, October 9th at 5 p.m., with an evening of readings and discussions with the association Words on the Lips, in the presence of the writer Colette Guedj, for whom words are there โto celebrate life,โ โto ward off death,โ words โmake things move,โ โtransform and convey their joyful effervescence to us.โ
