To significantly reduce noise pollution, the Metropolitan services have worked with the Professional Association of Acoustic Screen Designers (APREA) to consider the implementation of low-height acoustic screens that can easily blend into the urban landscape.
The installation of these experimental devices will take place in the coming weeks, and experiments will be conducted at the playground located near the House of the Environment, on the edge of the Boulevard de Cessole.
A scientific protocol for measuring and monitoring the effectiveness of these screens will be established using sensors from Environmental Urban Monitoring.
The Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis approved a Noise Prevention Plan in the Environment, the PPBE, in 2010. This plan has, over six years, concretely improved the acoustic environment of nearly 50,000 people.
At the end of 2017, the PPBE II was approved, comprising 35 noise reduction actions: transportation, buildings, neighborhood noise, etc.
