Last week, very large-scale fires broke out in the Var. In light of the significant damage, government members will visit the department this Tuesday.
While the Var is still grappling with fires, political figures and government members are visiting the department to offer their support to the victims of this disaster. Today, Tuesday, August 24, Julien Denormandie, Minister of Agriculture and Food, and Bérangère Abba, Secretary of State for Biodiversity, will travel to Le Luc en Provence.
It was Sereine Mauborgne, Member of Parliament for the 4th constituency of the Var, who requested the visit of the minister and the secretary of state to organize a meeting with the affected residents.
On this occasion, the government members will express their support to the personnel mobilized for over a week to combat these episodes as well as to the Var winemakers severely impacted as the harvest approaches.
At 1 PM, Julien Denormandie and Bérangère Abba will appear at the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service command post in Le Luc.
They will then visit, at 2 PM, a farm affected by the fires between Le Luc and Les Mayons.
Finally, at 3 PM, they will meet with the monitoring and situation cell alongside agricultural professionals, insurers, and local elected officials.
