J-F Kahn, Robert Rochefort, Sylvie Goulard, President of the European Movement France, are the lead candidates for François Bayrou’s party.
Figures from civil society such as the journalist Jean-François Kahn, the general manager of Credoc Robert Rochefort, and researcher Sylvie Goulard are among the lead candidates of the Democratic Movement (MoDem) for the European elections on June 7th.
MoDem stalwarts such as Marielle de Sarnez (Île-de-France), Corinne Lepage (North-West) and Jean-Luc Bennahmias (South-East) are also among the lead candidates appointed during an executive office meeting Tuesday night.
Jean-François Kahn, founder of l’Événement du Jeudi and co-founder of Marianne, will head MoDem’s list in the Eastern constituency, with outgoing MEP Nathalie Griesbeck as number two and former national secretary of the Greens Yann Wehrling, who joined MoDem last November, as number three.
The general manager of the Research Center for the Study and Observation of Living Conditions (Credoc), Robert Rochefort, will be the lead candidate in the South-West, with outgoing MEP Anne Laperrouze as number two.
Sylvie Goulard, president of the European Movement France and former advisor to Romano Prodi when he led the European Commission, will herself lead the MoDem list in the West.
In Île-de-France, the list will be led by outgoing MEP Marielle de Sarnez, with outgoing European deputy Bernard Lehideux as number two, and founder-president of the Marianne de la Diversité association, Fadila Mehal, as number three.
In the North-West, former Minister of the Environment Corinne Lepage, vice-president of MoDem, will be the lead candidate with the mayor of Saint-André-lez-Lille Olivier Henno as number two.
The former Green party member Jean-Luc Bennahmias, outgoing MEP, will lead the MoDem list in the South-East, with regional councillor Fabienne Faure as number two and former deputy Gilles Artigues as number three.
Outgoing MEP Jean-Marie Beaupuy will head the list in the Central region, with Cherifa Adaissi, former deputy mayor of Blois, as number two.
François Bayrou will kick off MoDem’s campaign on Sunday, February 8th during a national conference at the Mutualité in Paris.
