Under the direction of Marc Monnet (musician and composer), [the festival](https://www.printempsdesarts.mc/) revisits the great classics of music while hosting exclusive contemporary creations. This large-scale musical event will bring together contemporary artists this year over four weekends with an exceptional program, from March 14 to April 13.
1984-2014: already 30 years! Let’s recall that [the festival](https://www.printempsdesarts.mc/) began under the guidance of Princess Grace and Antoine Battaini, the then Director of Cultural Affairs of the Principality.
For 27 years, under the presidency of H.R.H., the Princess of Hanover, the Printemps des Arts has invigorated the cultural life of the Monegasque principality.
While the posters of the [Printemps des Arts](https://www.printempsdesarts.mc/) remain prestigious, the goal of attracting a new audience was set with the arrival of Marc Monnet in 2001. He abolished the boundaries between repertoires and eras of music by offering “red threads” to follow the event from one end to the other.
Thus, the Printemps took the risk of penetrating forbidden places (Oceanographic Museum, Summer and Winter Sportings, Grand Cabaret), and has several times invited itself into people’s homes with “Home Concerts” or “Surprise Concerts,” where the concept was simple: the public neither knew what they were going to hear nor how they would get to the concert venues.
A novelty will be present at this edition: 13 composers will present their 3-minute pieces, which will be played at the opening of certain concerts.
This year the festival celebrates its 30th cultural edition. An extraordinary adventure that continues more exhilarating than ever.
