When it’s Wednesday, it’s cinema time. Today, we present our selection of films for the week, to guide you through the dark movie theaters.

1. Guardians of the Galaxy 3 by James Gunn

With this third installment of Guardians of the Galaxy, fans of the Marvel studio reunite with their favorite group of misfit superheroes. Chris Pratt, Sarah Alami, and Stephen Blackehart reprise their roles for an action feature that successfully takes the audience from laughter to tears. Peter Quill, still mourning the loss of Gamora, must gather his team to defend the universe and protect one of their own. Failure could signify the end of the Guardians as we know them.

2. One Year, One Night by Isaki Lacuesta

The Spanish director offers a testimonial film about the November 13, 2015 attack at the Bataclan in Paris. The feature-length film is inspired by the novel Peace, Love and Death Metal by Spaniard Ramรณn Gonzรกlez. Ramรณn and Cรฉline, a couple played by Noรฉmie Merlant and Nahuel Perez Biscayart, attend the concert that night. They are among the survivors. But how do they resume their lives from where they left off before the terrorist attack? Ramรณn cannot escape the traumatic memories looping in his mind, while Cรฉline does everything she can to erase them from her memory. Yet, they must confront this ordeal together and find their way back to life.

3. Time Off by Eve Duchemin

Three inmates played by Jarod Cousyns, Karim Leklou, and Isaka Sawadogo are granted a weekend leave. 48 hours outside. It’s a chance to reconnect with family, friends, and their environment, but the return to normal life is more complicated than expected for these three men who live behind bars. Life has gone on since their incarceration, so how can they find their place again and make up for lost time? A powerful film focusing on humanity and questioning the prison system.

4. The Marginal by Frank Cimiรจre

Formerly homeless, actress Corinne Masiero plays the role of Michรจle, a homeless woman, wandering through the halls of Orly airport. Thรฉo, who has a mental handicap, works there as a sweeper. The character played by Vincent Chalambert lives with “his auntie” who overprotects him. The two outcasts find themselves on the roads, in a small car without a license, heading to Portugal where Michรจle hopes to find her son. A colorful and emotional road trip during which a touching and comedic bond arises between these two misfits.

5. For Honor by Philippe Guillard

Trocpont-sur-Vรฉzรจre and Tourtour-les-Bains are two neighboring villages in southern France. The communities have been engaged in a relentless village rivalry since the beginning of time, specifically through their famous rugby team. This small ecosystem is disrupted by an unexpected arrival. A group of asylum seekers settles in, shaking up the dynamic in these two villages. A sympathetic and touching comedy that aims to deliver a message of inclusion.
