For its 48th edition, the national science fiction convention will take place near Nice in Valbonne from August 19 to 22.
Over the course of 4 days, science fiction enthusiasts will gather as they have every year since 1974. This summer, the convention will be organized by the BlueSF association and will be held for the first time in the Alpes-Maritimes.
The main theme of the convention will be “the history of science fiction magazines in France,” but many authors will also be present for book signings and conferences. The festival’s program includes a tribute to Joseph Altairac—an author and critic specializing in science fiction who passed away at the end of last year—as well as an awards ceremony recognizing the best books of the year 2020.
This will be a significant event for speculative fiction, especially as it will be the first in-person gathering for readers in over a year!
