The new National Museum of Sport opened its doors yesterday late afternoon at the Allianz Riviera. Many notable personalities were present for the occasion.
The greatest sports figures from Nice were there: Camille Muffat, Loรฏc Pietri, Alexy Bosetti, รric Bauthรฉac, and their coach Claude Puel among many others.
But one could also see H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, alongside Christian Estrosi and รric Ciotti.
The mayor of the City of Nice acted as a guide for the Monegasque head of state, starting with the room dedicated to the football World Cups, which was only appropriate in the current period. After the visit by these figures, the public was then able to discover this magnificent collection of 45,000 sports-related objects and memorabilia of great champions, both old and modern.
The visit ended with a Niรงois cafรฉ, entirely decorated in the colors of OGC Nice, with a multitude of club symbols: photos, jerseys, and red and black foosball tables.
This National Museum of Sport aims to ensure the continuity of sport’s heritage, which today constitutes a pillar of education.
As an example, a variety of sporting activities were organized in front of the museum for the youth: football, athletics, and a volleyball tournament.
