There is always talk of synergies, joining forces, pooling actions to achieve common goals and then, ultimately, everyone stays in their corner, jealous of their prerogatives.
It is therefore with pleasure that we welcome this agreement between the UFR Staps (the faculty of sports science) of the University of Nice and the CDOS 06 (the departmental Olympic sports committee of the Alpes-Maritimes) to “combine their efforts to promote the development of sports in the Alpes-Maritimes.”
The two leaders, Jannick Brisswalter, Dean of the Faculty at UNS, and Philippe Manassero, President of the CDOS, did not hide their satisfaction for this act which formalizes their future relations.
Both have well understood that sports, with its growing economic importance, requires skills and therefore a need for training while it can offer professional integration opportunities.
Hence the necessity for specific training courses that the university world can organize while sports federations and clubs will inevitably have to evolve to move from volunteerism to more structured management.
The prospects and benefits of this collaboration being obvious, it only remains to put them into practice.
The first possible step, managing internships to allow young students to gain field experience and sports associations to open up to new support.
The path is open to new ideas.
