The initiative is unprecedented. For the first time, a French museum will exhibit the models of the stadiums of a FIFA World Cup. The National Sports Museum of Nice is organizing a temporary exhibition from October 16 to December 12, 2020, showcasing miniature replicas of the eight venues for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Seven of them were specifically designed and built for the event. The 2022 World Cup stadiums have a seating capacity ranging from 40,000 to 80,000 seats. The largest in the country, the Lusail Stadium (pictured above), will host the final of the competition.

After the world tournament, the capacity of most stadiums will be reduced, and the Ras Abu Aboud Stadium will be completely dismantled. The stands and equipment will then be donated to developing countries or sports projects around the world. The exhibition offered by the National Sports Museum is part of the activities for the Qatar-France Year of Culture 2020.
