Promoting the democratization of digital technology in schools. According to the CNN, National Digital Council, “The culture of digital technology and mastery of its tools are now necessary for successful integration into society and working life. On March 27 in Grasse and March 28 & 29 in Sophia Antipolis
The Nice academy is actively engaged in the development of digital technology in schools. Thanks to significant material and technical support from local authorities and the Ministry of National Education, Youth and Community Life, the Alpes-Maritimes and the Var benefit from a strong deployment of digital workspaces (ENT) and also experimental innovations such as digital tablets, web conferences, digital textbooks, digital diaries, or podcasting.
The challenge of digital technology in schools thus focuses on one of the institution’s primary missions, particularly that of promoting equal opportunities. Thus, the National Education contributes to its mission of a project for an information society for all by promoting equal access to digital technology.
Thanks to the resources dedicated to digital technology in schools, the use of innovative digital educational resources is spreading in educational institutions throughout France, and especially in the Nice academy, an academy at the forefront of digital experimentation with already 100 middle and high schools equipped with ENT.
For the second consecutive year, the ITOP education company, in partnership with the Nice academy, has chosen to organize the 4th national edition of the Netjournées in Grasse and Sophia-Antipolis.
10 spaces offering 150 workshops
Forum of new developments, use and feedback around ICTE, the Netjournées bring together all the actors of the educational community, around the uses developed in educational institutions equipped with new digital means.
150 thematic workshops spread over 10 spaces are offered to 450 participants from 17 academies and 35 communities in Sophia Antipolis on March 28 and 29, 2012.
Topics such as “using an ENT in a district,” “supporting the pedagogical uses of the ENT over time,” “what resources for use in primary schools?” “exploration teaching in grade 10,” “using a tablet for school life management,” “school books or digital resources in an ENT,” “ENT, resources and IWBs,” “the uses of an online diary,” “digital resources in ENT,” “ENT and responsible use of internal resources” will be addressed…
An academy at the forefront of ENT development
Initially piloted in 2003 in seven pioneer middle schools, the digital workspaces (ENT) are now deployed in 93 middle schools jointly by the General Councils of the Alpes-Maritimes and the Var and the Rectorate. 7 high schools are currently equipped with ENT, and 30 schools benefit from the governmental “Rural Digital School” plan.
Since the start of the 2011 school year, 127 schools in the districts of Grasse, Nice 2, Toulon, and Garéoult are also experimenting with ENT. In total, the Nice academy currently benefits from 100 ENT in middle and high schools, one of the highest deployment rates in secondary education in France.
200 digital tablets in experimentation
This experimentation, led by the ICTE Advisor, is conducted in partnership with the ministry, communities, and the CRDP of the Nice academy. It results in the provision of 200 tablets in 12 institutions and involves several hundred students across different grade levels and disciplines.
An academy at the heart of digital technology: nearly 1,200,000 accesses to the ENT were recorded in educational institutions in the Alpes Maritimes for the month of January 2012
