Despite the defeat at Tourcoing, President Alain Griguer is confident in the 2010-2011 season, which he believes will be a good vintage. The home opener is on Friday, November 5th at Salle Palmeira at 8:00 PM against Montpellier.
“We are proud to be the only professional club in France to have an amateur team in N2 men and another team in N2 women.” These are the first words of NVB President Alain Griguer during the presentation of the 2010-11 season to the authorities, sponsors, guests, and friends.
And he continued, “I expect a better ranking than last season, which was our return to Ligue A. Despite our budget being modest compared to other elite clubs, I remain optimistic and I’m sure we will position ourselves better than the previous year.”
Slobodan Lozancic, the new coach, added: “I come from six seasons in women’s volleyball, which is very different from men’s volleyball. I’m taking on a team I didn’t know, and I need to find my bearings. We need to work to acquire the necessary automatisms to play a game that is both spectacular and effective. I don’t want to make a prediction, but I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t have the necessary confidence for our season to be positive.”
