The Lascaris Palace has an extensive collection of musical instruments, some of which are currently on display on the first floor of the museum.

During the 2009 carnival, a section of the exhibition is dedicated to the Nice Carnival and its musical history.
Musical instruments made of “cougourdons” (gourds) from the late 19th century, created by Louis Allo for the burlesque band “La Vespa”, will be featured: mirliton, pรฉtadou, banjo, etc.
Scores and musical animations enhance this part of the exhibition and allow visitors to experience the Nice Carnival through music.

Guided tour of the musical instrument exhibition on Wednesdays February 11, 18, 25, and March 3, 2009. Additional dates and groups by appointment.
