This Saturday, February 12, 2011, starting from 4:00 PM, the inauguration of “Lou Trident”, the Nissart Cultural House of the Nissart Per Tougiou (NPT) association, will take place.
This new location, with over 250 m2, contains a classroom with 25 seats and a conference/performance hall with more than 70 seats.
Nux Vomica, Lo Mago d’en Casteu, Lu Rauba Capèu, Lo Cepon, Li Barragnas, La Chroma Nissarda, Henri Scatena, ADSAV, the Mourra dei 4 cantouns, and many other Nissart artists will entertain the end of the afternoon.
Elected officials, Presidents of Nissart cultural associations, Nissart teachers, traditional singers, music groups, Baleti animators, the Nissart cultural community, Nissart theater actors, members, and friends of NPT are invited…
A convivial aperitif will be offered with local specialties.
The aim is to introduce this new “tool” that has been set up and which targets four main ambitions:
- Allow the people of Nice and tourists to discover and rediscover the culture of Nice and its County, particularly through performances by the most prominent Nissart artists.
- Support the development of the Niçoise culture, always well-defended and more relevant than ever, by giving new local talents a chance to be known by a wider audience.
- Encourage and promote original actions labeled “County of Nice” in Nissart. Facilitate the use of the Nissart language in all cultural expressions.
- Further expand the offer of Nissart language courses Activities of Nissart Per Tougiou.
NISSART PER TOUGIOU has been offering free Niçois courses to its members for over 10 years thanks to volunteer teachers: Serge Chiaramonti, Adolphe Viani, Patrice Arnaudo, Jean René Lionelli, Philippe Del Giudice, Sylvain Casagrande. From two weekly courses, NPT has increased to four courses for the year 2010/2011.
• NPT is part of the Federation of Associations of the County of Nice (FACN). Close ties with FACN led it to share the same premises until summer 2010 at rue Blancon. Participation in the event of the Treasures of the County of Nice, which took place in the commune of Guillaumes and the hamlets of Barels.
• NPT produced a CD “NISSA CANTA”, bringing together the main artists of the moment representing the Nissart scene, distributed for free in over a thousand copies, to broaden the knowledge of our language to people who have never heard it.
CD NISSA CANTA was awarded to graduates who achieved the best grades in Nissart in the sessions of 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010.
• NPT has financially participated in organizing a trip to Caprera for a Niçois class from Estiennes d’Orves high school.
• NPT co-organized the first two major Niçois and Occitan music festivals in Levens: Le Festin D’Aqui 2008 and 2009.
• NPT participates in the May festival (booth, dictation, Niçois treasure hunt for children…) 2009, 2010, 2011…
• NPT participates in the Festin de La San Bertoumieu in Nice and runs a booth there. 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011…
• NPT participates in Mourra contests with the association Mourra Dei Quatre Cantouns. Nissart booth at the Festi’vous festival taking place in Ilonse. 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011…
• In 2010, NPT held a booth in Villefranche Sur Mer on September 12 during the commemoration of Napoleon III’s landing in Villefranche-sur-Mer in 1860.
• NPT was also present at the first days of the transmission of the Niçoise Language and Culture.
• NPT is the originator, along with two other Niçoise associations, of the mobilization around the bilingual French-Nissart school, which should see the light of day at the Château school.
• NPT also involves regular participation and organization of Niçois events:
– Support for Nissart music groups
– Theater outings: performances in Niçois
– County of NICE festivities, particularly at the patronal festival of August 15 in Mollières
– Meetings, debates, and conferences around the defense of the Niçoise language and culture
– Outings: restaurant, hikes, Baleti evenings…
– Tribute to GARIBALDI, to Catherine SEGURANE
• Throughout 2011, a reprint of the “NISSA CANTA” CDs is planned with ISBN number, distribution to the BNF, distribution in regional libraries, and dissemination on national and regional radios.
• In addition to the Niçois courses taking place on the Ground Floor of the new location since the start of 2010, the activity in the conference/performance hall has already taken off.

“Official” inauguration on February 12 “150 Ange 1914”
On February 18, 2011: the release of the latest book by Pascal COLLETTA “150 Ange 1914”. An imagined journal of a soldier from the County of Nice going to the war of 14. This presentation will be followed by an “apéro-brous”.

Nissart Courses
The courses are weekly, outside school holidays, and are led by Jean-René Lionelli on Tuesday, by Philippe Del Giudice on Wednesday, and Sylvain Casagrande on Friday.
