The equestrian center is a French riding school that teaches all disciplines related to this field with suitable supervision (state-certified teachers).
The work is divided between the delegate “Club Hippique de Nice” (delegated since September 1, 2007, for a duration of 20 years) and the city of Nice.
The cost of the work, for the city of Nice, is estimated at 2.5 million euros including tax.
The delegate commits to covering an estimated total amount of 2,616,767 euros excluding tax.
Located in the heart of the Plaine du Var and the future “Eco Valley,” the equestrian center, which covers an area of 10 hectares, has benefited from major restructuring work since September 2010, allowing fans of this sport to engage in equestrian activities, whether competitive, training, or educational, in ideal conditions.
The work, carried out by the city of Nice and the delegate of the equestrian center, the Club Hippique de Nice, will be completed in October 2011.
Planned developments include the creation of uncovered arenas and a covered arena, the construction and renovation of boxes, the creation of shower areas for horses, tack rooms, housing, and premises including offices, classrooms, a clubhouse, a reception shop, etc.
The overall project of the restructured equestrian center
The riding areas
-Creation of 6 uncovered arenas with a total area of 14,000 mยฒ ;
-Creation of a covered arena with an area of 2,100 mยฒ ;
The stables
-Construction of 132 boxes for a total capacity to accommodate 189 horses;
-Construction of 3 sets of shower areas equipped for horses;
-Construction of 5 tack rooms and 4 club tack rooms;
-Asbestos removal and renovation of 55 boxes from the old stables and destruction of the remaining stables
The commercial premises
-Creation within the Pin Maisonnat buildings (whose roofs were renovated by the city of Nice in 2010 for an amount of 300,000 euros) of 710 mยฒ of space for reception, office, classrooms, meeting rooms, shop, clubhouse, medical room, changing rooms, sanitary facilities and showers for riders and staff;
-Creation of 5 accommodations (including that of the caretaker) and guest rooms
Details and cost of the work carried out by the city of Nice
The work on the new equestrian center, undertaken since September 2010 by the city of Nice, is carried out on an area of 5.3 hectares (the center occupies an overall area of 10 hectares).
They consist of:
– The establishment of the networks necessary for the viability of the site (sewage, stormwater, EDF connections, France Telecom, drinking water, irrigation, etc.);
– The construction of a low wall as a boundary at the periphery of the site and the creation of a main access at the right of the roundabout;
– The creation of a light road to allow maintenance and the main path of the stabilized horses;
– Creation of 100 parking spaces, including 5 for disabled people;
– Installation of the irrigation system;
– The construction of sand arenas;
– The installation of wooden elements around the arenas, lighting poles, and tree planting.
