This year, the Regattas of Nice – Villefranche-sur-Mer – Pasqui Trophy, will take place from September 15 to 20, 2015. This year, 32 traditional sailing boats are expected in Villefranche-sur-Mer and 3 in the port of Nice.
The annual gathering of exceptional and legendary vintage sailing ships. This prestigious event is organized by the Pasqui Trophy association, in partnership with the Department of Alpes-Maritimes, the commune of Villefranche-sur-Mer, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The 2015 edition will offer, just like last year, parades and challenges that will allow the general public to enjoy the magnificent spectacle offered by traditional sailing boats and their crews, along the azure coast, from Nice to Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, passing through Villefranche-sur-Mer. The public will be able to follow them from the coast, or aboard ships chartered by the Department, which will allow more than 850 people to admire the sailing boats during the challenges on September 19.
The partner village, set up in Place Amélie Pollonais in Villefranche, will offer exhibitions and activities throughout the 5 days. A nautical show that has become the prestigious sporting event of the azurean summer. The Pasqui Trophy in Villefranche-sur-Mer and the Nice Regattas, two top events allowing us to reconnect with the maritime past of our department, merged in 2013 to create a doubly exceptional event.
The now-named Regattas of Nice – Villefranche-sur-Mer – Pasqui Trophy thus brings together, since last year, the most beautiful sailing ships in the world in a splendid setting, allowing amateurs and professionals to indulge in their passion and to contemplate splendid sailing boats that have navigated the seas and times, thanks to a program combining activities, meetings, and discoveries.
