Nouvelles, the School of Journalism in Nice, opens its doors on Saturday, May 13, 2006, from 10 AM to 6 PM.

3,500 m2 of professional premises in the heart of Nice,

15 graduating classes sponsored by Louis Pauwels, Jean Daniel, Jacqueline Baudrier, Michel Bassi, Ivan Levaï, Claude Sérillon, Michèle Cotta, Paul Amar, Alain Duhamel, Franz-Olivier Giesbert, Philippe Bouvard, Christine Ockrent, Arlette Chabot, Patrick Poivre d’Arvor, Jean-François Kahn in 2006 and Marine Jaquemin in 2007!

87% of former students hold a press card and are employed in French and foreign media.
400 journalists from the school have become, for example, Presenters on LCI, Reporters on Europe 1, Editing Secretaries at Nice-Matin, Journalists at the Economics Department of Le Figaro, etc. Most of the graduates have been placed.

The students went all out to show what they are capable of like true professionals. The “Open House” day will allow you to:

  • talk with first and second-year students who will answer visitors’ questions.
  • meet the professors who will explain what they expect from the students.
  • see the facilities (classrooms, radio studio, computer rooms)
  • discover new information technologies.
  • learn about an exciting profession about which much is discussed but little is known, including the challenges it involves.
  • come discover CURIEUX.NET, the first information magazine entirely written by the students as part of their coursework.

During this day, the students will produce radio, television, and written newspapers. They will demonstrate their expertise. It is very interesting to observe the visible part of the newspapers and all the work that precedes them. Nouvelles School trains journalists capable of handling any topic on any medium. Graduated journalists are scattered across France. It is common to come across them in newsrooms on the French Riviera. The Open House day provides better understanding of their successes by talking with the professors and discovering the facilities and equipment available to students.
