This signing will take place in the presence of Cรฉline Metge, Director of Saint Roch Hospital and the Emergency Reception Service, and Jean-Luc Martinez, Head of the Municipal Police.
Why this agreement?
The emergency service of Nice CHU hosts an average of 200 adult patients over the age of 15 each day.
This high attendance is a source of stress and sometimes anxiety, occasionally leading to verbal or even physical violence.
This phenomenon, found in most health institutions, also affects the CHU of Nice and its staff, who have expressed their desire for the hospital and Emergency Reception Service to be respected once again.
To prevent these acts of violence, the CHU of Nice has developed a violence prevention plan, which has, for several years now, included the use of a surveillance company equipped with a dog handler and a security officer.
Aware of the situation and wanting to help the hospital regain its status as a respected sanctuary, the Senator-Mayor of Nice, President of the CHU’s Board of Directors, wanted the City of Nice to provide concrete assistance. That is why he committed, along with the City Council, to support the management and prevention of violence by making Municipal Police personnel available.
This presence aims to provide a safer reception for patients from the Nice population area.
