On Friday, August 3, 2012, at 3:15 PM, Mr. Eric Ciotti, Deputy, President of the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes, will pay tribute to the Azur champions present at the London Olympics.
In order to celebrate the excellent results of the Azur champions at the London Olympic Games, the General Council has decided to honor them by displaying their portraits on the Department House located in the heart of Nice.
The General Council 06 Team was created by the Department to encourage and support athletes who sought a place in the Olympic Games. This group consists of 32 athletes across 12 disciplines, of which 23 were selected, including 4 for the Paralympic Games.
It is worth remembering that Olympic medals belong to the athletes who won them through their talent, hard work, and ability to be better than their opponents on the day.
Of course, an athlete requires technical, logistical, and financial support to perform in the best possible conditions.
But it is important not to confuse roles and always keep in mind that the protagonists remain the athletes who raise their arms in victory.
