The Nice Police Headquarters will open in December 2025 and bring together several security services on a single site. This project has elicited mixed reactions among local shopkeepers.
The Nice Police Headquarters is set to be completed in December 2025. On Thursday, March 6, Mayor Christian Estrosi visited the construction site to assess the progress of the work. This building will bring together various police and security services in one location.
The future Police Headquarters will consolidate on 50,000 m² the national police, municipal police, judicial police, and France’s first urban hypervision and command center. It will also host the Metropolitan Agency for Health Safety, Environmental and Risk Management.
This project is taking place at the former Saint-Roch hospital, located at General Marshall Square. It will allow 1,200 national police officers and 800 municipal police officers to work together. For Christian Estrosi, this cooperation is essential: “Today’s security chain requires, in the face of all the threats we know, a coordinated effort to double efficiency.”
The deadlines should be met
The work is progressing rapidly. The mayor emphasized: “I had committed to ensuring the schedules were maintained and they are.” Joël Espicier, project director at Vinci, confirms this dynamic: “We can say that the work is progressing well; it’s moving very quickly.”
The Police Headquarters required adaptation to seismic risk, a technical challenge that left a mark on the teams. “It’s a source of pride because I’ve worked on many sites, but this one is special,” explains Joël Espicier.
The project is entering its final phase. Delivery is expected at the end of the year with a start of operations in early 2026.
