The sports scene in Nice is rich with young talent who have the ambition to climb up to the national level, and even international level.
Tennis is no stranger to this tradition: after so many “stars,” the young prospects dream of taking over: such is the case of Arnaud Restifo, affiliated with TC Falicon.
At just 18 years old and originally from Nice, Arnaud is back on the courts, more motivated than ever, after a season marred by a shoulder injury.
Best player in the department and ranked first regionally, Arnaud is looking further aheadโฆ
Nice Premium: Would you introduce yourself to our readers?
Arnaud Restifo: My journey is that of an 18-year-old player, passionate about tennis from a very young age, whose ultimate dream is to one day make it into the world Top 100.
Nice Premium: Do you dedicate yourself to tennis 100%?
Arnaud Restifo: Even though tennis remains my priority, I have chosen to combine university studies and a sports career to maintain a balance. In life, I have an artistic side. Playing the guitar allows me to escape. I love enjoying the simple pleasures of life, as a true epicurean.
Nice Premium: Does your family support you?
Arnaud Restifo: As someone who loves my region and is very attached to my city, I draw my strength from the unwavering support of my family, a true pillar, without which I wouldn’t be where I am today…
Nice Premium: On the sports side, how are you organized?
Arnaud Restifo: I am lucky to be well surrounded by a “team” that believes in the realization of my project: my brother Maxime, a tennis coach, follows me daily; my trainer, former professional player Jean-Franรงois Bachelet, and, how could I forget my club, Tennis Club of Falicon.
Nice Premium: can you give us your tennis player profile?
Arnaud Restifo: My size is a major asset. A strong character combined with game intelligence. My talent: a good ball touch, an eye that allows me to have a great capacity for anticipation and adaptation, a backhand that puts opponents in difficulty. And if I may add, a touch of madness, that’s my little extra thing.
Nice-Premium: You have just turned 18 and are leaving the junior category. What are your objectives for 2016?
Arnaud Restifo: I can summarize them in two: perform well in the main draws of the Future circuit (ATP) and climb up the world rankings. Successfully combine Sports & Studies (Law School).
