The State, the Provence-Alpes-Cรดte d’Azur Region, ADEME, the Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIR), the Regional Chamber of Trades and Crafts of Provence-Alpes-Cรดte d’Azur (CMAR), and the Banque des Territoires have signed a Partnership Agreement and launched the regional platform dedicated to the circular economy to support companies towards new, more competitive economic models.
This initiative is part of the regional Climate Plan “A COP Ahead” and reflects the commitment of all signatories to position the economy at the service of the ecological Transition.
The signing of this Agreement and the launch of the platform respond to the unveiling of the roadmap for a 100% circular economy by Prime Minister รdouard Philippe and the State Secretary to the Minister of State, Minister for the Ecological and Inclusive Transition Brune Poirson, on April 23, 2018. This project aims to address four challenges: better production, better consumption, mobilizing actors, and better waste management.
In this context, the Provence-Alpes-Cรดte d’Azur Region and other actors have decided to join forces to create a dedicated regional platform and promote an ambitious territorial policy regarding Corporate Responsibility. Concretely, the signatories will offer tools for companies wishing to engage in the circular economy, which includes several features: functional economy, eco-design, recycling, collaborative economy, sustainable sourcing, extension of usage duration, etc.
These support measures for businesses and territorial dynamics aim to be part of each partner’s dedicated intervention tools, notably through the State-Region Plan Contract, the regional Climate Plan “A COP Ahead” voted in December 2017, or the Efficient and Responsible Pathway in Provence-Alpes-Cรดte d’Azur, which has impacted a total of 3000 companies and more than 400 companies committed to CSR support and the circular economy.
