With 2,863 doors knocked, more than thirty events organized, and 425 questionnaires filled out, the Grand March for Europe concludes after five weeks of door-to-door campaigning throughout the Alpes-Maritimes. This local success contributes to the national success of the operation.
Members of La République En Marche from the Alpes-Maritimes met with citizens as part of a vast national door-to-door campaign, to listen to their concerns, expectations, and proposals for the reformation of the European project.
“The Grand March for Europe sought to break out of the self-contained mindset of informed, convinced, or skeptical circles by reaching out to all the residents of the Alpes-Maritimes,” commented Enis Sliti, the departmental representative for La République En Marche, who draws a lesson for the future: “The Grand March for Europe is foremost a grassroots success, demonstrating the mobilization of the walkers from the Alpes-Maritimes. It is also the success of a method: that of meticulous listening on the ground.”
