The Nice Côte d’Azur Chamber of Commerce and Industry awarded chef Julien Toselli from the restaurant L’Empire, located on Jean Jaurès Boulevard.

During a ceremony held at the restaurant L’Empire itself, chef Julien Toselli received the plaque symbolizing his acquisition of the Maître Restaurateur title from Alain Meinardi, representative of the CCI Nice Côte d’Azur.

The manager of the Nice restaurant expressed “great pride for the entire team and for himself.” A graduate from Paul Augier High School in 2007, he made sure to thank everyone who helped and supported him, including suppliers, the town hall (represented by Jean-Pierre Scarfone, deputy mayor of Nice), as well as his team and family.

His famous team didn’t miss a moment of the celebration. Julien Toselli congratulated his chef, Nicolas Selow, his deputy Julien Ronco, and his chef de partie, Baba, “who has been with us for 20 years.” The wave of thanks concluded with a poetic inspiration: “catering is a job for passionate and crazy people. We are crazy about this profession.”

Mattéo Mansi, president of the 06 Delegation of Maîtres Restaurateurs, praised “the beautiful recognition for a restaurant that absolutely deserves it.” Alongside Julien Toselli, he expressed pride “that Maîtres Restaurateurs defend their profession wholeheartedly.”

As for Alain Meinardi, he recalled that “L’Empire was founded in February 2015, replacing L’Univers.” He then emphasized that Julien Toselli “was following in the footsteps of his predecessors,” with a touch of pride in his voice.

He further specified that today, “the Alpes-Maritimes department has about a hundred Maîtres Restaurateurs,” and that to apply, Julien Toselli and his team “had to meet and comply with a number of criteria.” Clearly, with great success.
