png_Image_1-5.pngAn exceptional vintage, exceptional dates: The red curtain of the National Theatre of Nice will open on RUSKOFF 2010 on January 5, the eve of Russian Christmas, thus kicking off the “France-Russia Cross Year 2010”.

RUSKOFF, the festival of Russian arts and cinema in Nice, born in 1998 from the ambition to unveil a new face of Russia, will once again open its Pandora’s box to raise the winter temperature a notch! And it is not less than 11 candles that RUSKOFF will blow out on January 5, 2010.

Nice will thus live from January 5 to 13 under the influence of the East and without any borders. Even the language barrier has been abolished. The shows presented are so visually expressive that they need no commentary. And even if that does not suffice, they are subtitled in French.

To ensure that this grand mass of live performance of the third millennium is shared beyond the boards, every evening, at the end of the performances, a traditional zakouskis buffet will extend the magic, gathering at the “RUSKOFF Klub,” artists, actors, spectators, journalists, Russian and French personalities in an atmosphere also, wildly Russian.

Some figures since the beginning of RUSKOFF:

more than 80,000 spectators in the TNN halls
hundreds of theatrical troupes from across the Federation of Russia
one co-produced creation each year, four of which have been awarded the “Golden Mask” prize
tens of thousands of blinis to accompany the friendship glasses.
Every evening live, millions of Russian spectators follow the Festival NEWS on their television sets.
