The 12th edition of the Nice Short Film Festival will be held from October 23 to 28, 2012, in various cinemas around the city. The official 2012 selection of “Un festival c’est trop court” is composed of 44 short films competing in the European Competition to win the 2012 Grand Prix.
A selection consisting of films ranging from 1 minute 31 seconds to 36 minutes, made in 2011 and originating from 19 countries, including 3 represented for the first time: Estonia, Finland, and Greece. All cinematic genres will be represented, with fiction, documentary, animation, and experimental films forming the 8 programs screened throughout the week at the Rialto Cinema.
Alongside the European Competition, the festival will offer 3 other thematic competitions: “Courts dโici” (films shot and produced in the PACA region), “Expรฉrience” (competition of Experimental films, video art, new cinema), and “Courts dโAnimation” (Francophone competition of animation school films), whose programs will be announced very soon.
Each selection will be subject to the votes of a professional jury that will award various prizes with a total value of 10,000 euros in cash and technical services, during the Closing Ceremony of the festival on Saturday, October 27, 2012.
