The Skeptics’ Fridays presents “The Paranormal versus Science”

Latest News

The lecture by physicist Henri Broch aims to show various aspects of the rigorous scientific approach that should be adopted when addressing hot topics such as parapsychology, astrology, the mysteries of archaeology and antiquity, or even the supernatural.

As an illustration, this slide-show lecture invites us on a real journey into the heart of phenomena that are “out of the norm,” “extraordinary”…

There will be no shortage of examples, and we will discover the results of the lecturer’s investigations and experiments, and the reality behind many mysteries. From the “lines” of Nazca in Peru, the Maya astronaut of Palenque in Mexico, the mysteries of the Greek and Egyptian temples, the discovery of our (true!) zodiacal sign, the miracle of the liquefaction of the blood of Saint Januarius, the Shroud of Turin, tests of telepathy and extrasensory perception, to walking – barefoot – on coals at nearly 700°C or even predicting the winning lottery numbers more than 24 hours in advance, verified by a bailiff!

Henri BROCH is a member of the New York Academy of Sciences and the founder of the teaching of Zetetics and the [Zetetics Laboratory](https://www.unice.fr/zetetique/) at the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis. This internationally recognized specialist in the study of “paranormal” phenomena is a member of the prestigious C.S.I., Committee for Skeptical Inquiry, USA.
