As nearly one million people have fallen below the poverty line in the past 10 years in our country, the UNI-RESO association and the Alpes-Maritimes delegation of the Representative Council of French Overseas (CREFOM) organized “The Solidarity Christmas of Associations” this Saturday the 2nd in the halls of a palace on the Promenade des Anglais.
On the program, two highlights:
The distribution of gifts to 150 children from the most underprivileged Maralpins households.
“For each of them, a gift provided by the partners and sponsors of the event will bring a moment of joy as the end of the year festivities approach,” explains Mamadou SOW, President of UNI-RESO. 100 seniors were also present to promote and revitalize intergenerational connections.
– After a dinner aperitif open only to members of the Azurรฉennes associations (25 of which were present) to collect funds that will be directly donated to the victims of Hurricane Irma.
“We wanted to send a strong message to Saint-Martin for the holidays. The children of Saint-Martin also deserve a Christmas worthy of the name,” comments Sรฉverine DANY, CREFOM PACA Delegate.
