The temporary memorial in memory of the victims of the July 14, 2016 attack was inaugurated yesterday at the Jardin de la Villa Massรฉna.
The mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, several elected officials, and the relatives of the victims were present this Thursday at the Jardin de la Villa Massรฉna, where the provisional memorial is installed in tribute to the 86 victims of the attack. An emotional ceremony was held in memory of the deceased.
Comprised of the fountain used during the last national tribute in October, as well as the heart of OGC Nice, the memorial bears the inscription “in memory of our angels,” and the names of 86 victims are engraved on it.
The site is accessible every day of the week, between 10 am and 8 pm. It is also illuminated at night and secured by cameras and security agents.
The space for reflection will be accessible to everyone until the installation of the permanent memorial on the Promenade des Anglais, which will be inaugurated on the next July 14th.
