From June 19 to July 5, 2024, discover the inaugural edition of the tragedy festival by the National Theatre of Nice at the Cimiez Arenas.
For the first edition of the tragedy festival organized by the National Theatre of Nice, the director of TNN, Muriel Mayette-Holtz, is organizing her “greatest artistic project” for the city of Nice. For the first edition, the TNN is thinking big and taking over the Cimiez Arenas for the beauty and history of this iconic location in Nice.
All festival performances will be offered at a rate of €20 full price. Those under 25 years will benefit from a price of €10. To balance this, TNN is organizing small events around the festival which are completely free for the public. You simply need to visit the website to reserve your spot.

- “Phèdre” by Racine from June 19 to 22, 2024, at the Cimiez Arenas.
- From June 25 to 26, 2024, “Hélène après la chute”.
- “Calek” by Calek Perechodnik on June 28, 2024.
- “Notre Homère” from Homer’s Odyssey on June 29, 2024.
- From July 2 to 3, 2024, discover “Andromaque” by Racine.
Highlights of the Festival Program
To complement the festival, the TNN is organizing “Highlights of the Festival” where you can find:
- At the Massena Villa Museum from June 23 to 30, 2024, a tragic comedy by Noémie Ksicova “Loin d’eux”.
- On June 30, 2024, at the Château de Crémat, “Construire un feu” by Jack London.
- In the Franciscan Hall, experience the “Colloquium and Poetry Evening” on July 4, 2024. The TNN is organizing an evening bringing together many specialists in dramatic writing.
- On July 5, 2024, at Saint-François Square, discover “The Trial of Nero”.
