The Very Short International Film Festival is an international short film festival created in 1999, taking place every year in several dozen cities simultaneously around the world. The 17th edition will be held from June 5 to 14 and for the first time in more than 100 cities across about thirty countries.

Among the thirty or so French cities involved, Saint Laurent du Var will be featured for the first time, this Friday at 8:30 PM at the Georges Brassens Theater.

The festival aims to promote films in the Very Short format (3 minutes maximum, excluding titles and credits). Productions come from all over the world, made with or without a budget.

The [Very Short International Film Festival](https://www.trescourt.com/) has become the reference event for this format of expression (Very Short), appreciated by the general public.

Several selections coexist within the festival: the international selection, “Words of Women,” “Traveling 34,” and the thematic “Around” series (family, animation, Music’n dance, trash and glam).

Each year, 150 very short films are selected from over 3,500 viewed from all continents. These films are then submitted to a jury responsible for awarding several prizes: the Grand Prix, the Women’s Rights Award, the “Traveling 34 / AG2R La Mondiale” Award, the 2D/3D Animation Award, and the Originality Award.

The Audience Award is given by all spectators worldwide through a completely transparent democratic vote: the result is announced on social networks within 10 days following the close of the festival, and the details of the votes are posted on the festival’s website.

The jury president is the director Pascale Ferran (with 8 films to her credit, including Lady Chatterley).
