On Monday, March 5th, at 3:00 PM, the “Promenade du Boulevard de Nice” was inaugurated in Netanya, Israel, in the presence of the Mayor of Netanya, Myriam Feierberg, the Minister of Tourism, Mr. Itzhak Hertzog, and Attorney Brigitte Tanauji-Dahan representing Senator-Mayor Jacques Peyrat.
This inauguration is part of a long-standing relationship between the two cities, as Nice and Netanya have been twinned since 1968.
The Mayor of Netanya had previously been received by Jacques Peyrat and numerous political and community figures in March 2004, during his visit to Nice. The Senator-Mayor returned his visit a year later in March 2005.
Founded in 1929, Netanya is a coastal city built on cliffs 20 to 40 meters above sea level.
Beaches, local markets, tourism, and even pรฉtanque are not the only common features between Netanya and Nice.
Considered one of the jewels of the Mediterranean.
