“In the Republic, we cannot accept someone refusing to shake a woman’s hand because she is a woman; in the Republic, we cannot accept anyone refusing to be treated or educated by someone; in the Republic, we cannot accept dropping out of school; in the Republic, we cannot demand virginity certificates to get married; in the Republic, we must never accept that the laws of religion can be superior to the laws of the Republic, it’s as simple as that.”
These statements made by the President of the Republic are self-evident. However, the extent of communitarian (separatist?) deviations in our country makes them seem like a strong statement. Moreover, they could be extended and multiplied.
The challenge is to relentlessly combat this communitarianism, step by step. For this to happen, the State’s resolve must go beyond an electoral stunt. However, as an optimistic person, I, the Republican, positively acknowledge this new determination of the President of the Republic.
