On October 31, the management takeover of the water service was implemented with the creation of the “Eau d’Azur” public utility. Hervé Paul, President of the Water, Sanitation, and Energy Commission of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis and Mayor of Saint-Martin-du-Var, was elected President of the “Eau d’Azur” utility.
Philippe Pradal, President of the Finance Commission of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, First Deputy Mayor of Nice, and Xavier Beck, Vice-President of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis and Mayor of Cap d’Ail, were elected Vice-Presidents.
Since 2008, several management transitions have been undertaken by the City of Nice and the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, with great vigilance on maintaining individual situations: January 2009: Jean Bouin swimming pool (25 people), January 2011: the National Interest Market (34 people), July 2011: school canteens (650 people), and September 2013: transport (1,144 people).
For reference: On March 29, the Metropolitan Council deliberated and decided to operate in management mode, upon expiration of the current delegation contracts, the water services of the following municipalities: Eze, Cap d’Ail, Villefranche-sur-Mer, as well as Beaulieu-sur-Mer starting September 15, 2014, and for the city of Nice starting February 4, 2015.
