I believe it is important to spread these fundamental principles with our means throughout the entire department. I extend my thanks to all of you for the interest you show in these values of Olympism and for your generous contribution to their dissemination,” said Jean-Paul Serra in his welcome address.

To conclude: “My best wishes for the coming new year. I hope it will bring sporting success in the projects you undertake.”

These words were echoed by Eric Pauget, the general councilor in charge of sports, who referred to the action of local communities, reminding that despite budget restrictions, the funding for sport will not be reduced for the year 2012.

And to conclude: “Sport advances with the triptych of the sports movement, state services, and local communities. Sport is a powerful means to promote social cohesion, health, and well-being. It is the duty of the General Council to support this approach in our department, and we do so; the results are there to confirm the positivity of our action and investment.
This year is a special year as an Olympic year. I extend my best wishes for success to the selected athletes from the Côte d’Azur who will participate.”
