Two months after the limited opening of tram line 2 between CADAM and Magnan, the President of the Metropolis, Christian Estrosi, took stock of the situation by visiting the construction sites to observe the progress of work on the underground stations at Durandy, Jean-Mรฉdecin, a strategic point that will connect Line 1 and Line 2, and Alsace-Lorraine.
The work is progressing according to plan, and on this occasion, the opening of the West-East tramway line between the airport and Magnan in December 2018 was confirmed.
Next, the schedule plans for the opening between CADAM, the airport, and the entire underground section up to Jean-Mรฉdecin in June 2019.
The entire line up to the Port will be operational in September 2019.
The construction of the line necessitated the closure of the Romain Gary Library, which will be partially renovated and reopened next November.
Similarly, the delivery of the Durandy Garden is planned for summer 2019. The square will be completely redesigned while staying true to its original spirit and appearance.
As for the Alsace-Lorraine Garden, it will be redeveloped by architects and landscapers while being restored to its original style. All access points to the garden will remain intact. Delivery is scheduled for June 2019.
