The Federation of Master Bakers and Pastry Bakers of Alpes-Maritimes is partnering with the Taste Week. It offers two events aimed at young people. Objective: to introduce them to the world of baking. Additionally, there is a desire to raise their awareness about the quality of their products, stemming from ancestral know-how. Teaching them to distinguish different flavors and encouraging them to rediscover healthy foods to promote dietary balance.

From 8 AM to noon: cafeteria of Collรจge Jean-Henri Fabre
Morning meeting with 200 students from the 5th grade. Two classes per hour supervised by their teachers: three bakers from the department, members of the Federation, will present the profession (training, required skills, diplomas, working hours, etc.). The students will also get hands-on experience (demonstration and shaping). The morning will conclude with tastings of different varieties of bread with varied flavors. The students will receive a booklet on the nutritional qualities of different breads.

From 9 AM to noon: cafeteria of Collรจge Les Vallergues
Morning meeting with two groups of around twenty 8th and 9th-grade students
The first group: from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM
The second group: from 10:30 AM to noon
Three bakers from the department, members of the Federation, will present the profession (training, required skills, diplomas, working hours, etc.).
The students will also get hands-on experience (demonstration and shaping).
Each student will be able to take home what they have crafted. The bread is baked on-site.
The Federation of Master Bakers and Pastry Bakers of Alpes-Maritimes is chaired by Claude Batel. It represents 430 businesses with a turnover of 170 million euros. It aims to represent, defend, and promote the profession of baker-pastry chef. This federation is under the aegis of the National Confederation of French Bakery and Pastry Bakery. Nice has 170 artisan bakers, whose turnover represents 40 million euros. 160 apprentices are enrolled in the first and second year at the CFA of Carros.
Bakeries and pastry shops occupy the first place within food craftsmanship. They are among the most visited local retail businesses.
