A resident of Nice (by adoption) has been added to the long list of individuals from the Côte d’Azur who hold national responsibilities. It’s deserved, and that’s all the better.
This time, it is the amiable Théo (born Matteo) Mansi, whose restaurant on the Cimiez hill has been appreciated for many years by a clientele as loyal as they are gourmet.
President of the 06 Delegation of this association, he becomes the National Vice-President after the General Assembly that took place in Nice a few days ago, in the premises of the Chamber of Commerce, during which they discussed current issues such as resource and species protection, and food waste management, demonstrating a societal awareness that does them honor.
For the record, this title, established in 2007 by the Ministry of SMEs, Trade, and Artisanship, awards an official distinction to recognize skills and enhance professionalism.
Alongside his brother Gerardo, also a restaurateur in the center of Nice, he explained the reason for his commitment: “Our duty is to pass on our knowledge and work ethic to the new generations. The title of “Maître restaurateur” is not just a simple logo; it recognizes professional achievement and the quality of the person,” he declared.
And to conclude: “It must be known that any restaurateur can aspire to it, from the modest brasserie to the starred restaurant. Merit is what is recognized and rewarded.”
Some figures support his analysis: 140,000 restaurateurs, 3,500 maîtres restaurateurs at the national level, of which 125 are in the Alpes-Maritimes.
As can be seen, the selection is severe. Théo Mansi confirms: “Our objective is to reach 8,000 members.”
