It’s already the 7th Edition of the Plages Du Rire, the laughter festival that takes place every year in August at the mythical Théâtre de Verdure by the sea.
This year, the festival will make a big impact with the arrival of the one everyone is waiting for, Laura Laune, the grand winner of the show France’s Got Incredible Talent, but don’t be mistaken…! This lovely young Belgian artist already has a very successful career behind her, and our festival has been following her for quite some time…! Considering the presales, we can assume she’ll be playing to a sold-out crowd on August 9th! So here’s a good tip: reserve quickly to see this comedy phenomenon.
Last year it was Elie Semoun, this year it will be the great Bigard who will present his new show Once Upon a Time, exclusively in Nice. A show where the audience will choose his best sketches…! A great way to celebrate his 30-year career!
And then on August 11th, we will exclusively welcome in the region one of the most gifted comedians of his generation, Tano, with his new show! And it is truly an event to have him in our festival as his talent as a comedian, actor, and humorist is recognized by all.
A very fine lineup with the festival’s usual discoveries, including Fabien Guilbaud, the winner of the 2017 Plages competition, who will open for TANO on August 11th.
The Plages Competition and the Kids Competition, which are part of the festival’s core, are returning as well with a new format this year, featuring several dates in the department, a semi-final, and a final in Nice. This is to facilitate the discovery of new talents. And the three best, including the winner of the 2018 competition, will have the privilege of opening the 2018 festival on August 9th as the opening act for Laura Laune.
We can bet that this 2018 edition will be exceptional…
– Thursday, August 9th
Laura Laune has no limits, she dares anything! With a sharp black humor and complete irreverence, the angelic madness of Laura Laune and her paradox-filled characters give you chills: is she innocent or mean? Aware of her statements or simply crazy? From a children’s rhyme that spins out of control to characters with seemingly imperceptible madness, the show has plenty of surprises. Beneath her innocent blond girl appearance, the Belgian comedian, the grand winner of the 2018 FRANCE’S GOT INCREDIBLE TALENT, who caused a sensation by winning all the prizes at comedy festivals over the past two years, tackles the most difficult themes without reservations.

Jean-Marie Bigard: “…Hello my darlings! 4,000,000 of you guys bought my DVDs. It’s my turn to give you a gift! I’m going to meet you, wherever you are! With my best sketches…! Well, no, your best sketches! Because you’ll be the ones to choose (by voting online) the sketches I’ll play each night. It’s my tour, enjoy it!”

For Tano “We are all Idiots Sapiens… Humanity is afflicted with an incurable mental disease, and all the symptoms are there to prove the diagnosis: ‘Communityism in babies, underwear climate change, self-medication, self-surgery, rapper cops, Salafist feminists, hardcore vegans, majority minority, French song covers, etc…’”
A quirky, punk, trash, acid, intelligent, and above all, very funny show. The script is certified organic and without counterfeit. No jokes were stolen from the Americans.
