The day after the arrival of Paris-Nice, the organizers of the Tour de France unveiled, in the presence of the Mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, and Prince Albert II of Monaco, the details of the Azure finish of the 2024 edition.
For the first time in its history, the Tour de France will not end in the Paris region, but on the French Riviera. Announced last December, this historic change, which will take place for the 2024 edition, is due to the Paris Olympic Games being held during the same period.
This Monday, March 13, at the Opera of Nice, the last two stages were presented to the general public.
The route of the 20th stage specifies that the race will start in the heart of Nice. The riders will climb the hills of the backcountry to reach Col de Braus, Col de Turini, and then Saint-Martin-Vésubie before starting a descent via Col de La Colmiane to Col de La Couillole.
The 21st and final stage of the Tour will start in Monaco. The riders will climb to La Turbie before reaching Col D’Èze. After descending the road from Villefranche-sur-mer, the cyclists will enter the Azure capital via the port of Nice. Naturally, they will continue to the Promenade des Anglais before concluding the race at Place Masséna.
