Prime Video, the City of Nice, and the École Nationale Supérieure Louis Lumière have announced the launch of the Victorine Narrativa Lab, a mentorship program for future French writers.
During this five-month program – which will take place from January to May 2022 at the Victorine studios in Nice and online – young screenwriters will be able to write and refine their first feature film.
The program’s goal is to highlight new French talents as well as screenwriting. Thus, similar to Netflix partnering with the Kourtrajmé school, Amazon aims to demonstrate its commitment to the local film industry. For Thomas Dubois, Head of Originals at Amazon Originals France for Prime Video, “it is essential to support the incredible community of talented screenwriters across France and promote the diversity of stories through programs like this one.”
During the training, participants will be mentored by professionals and will have the opportunity to attend lectures by French screenwriters or professors from the ENS Louis-Lumière.
At the end of the Victorine Narrative Lab, Amazon might acquire the rights to the scripts, which could later become the next Amazon Original films!
