The revival of the Victorine Studios has its roots in a robust partnership. Initiated in 2017 between these iconic studios and the City of Nice, this commitment stems from the strong will of the city and Christian Estrosi, the mayor of Nice, who wishes to restore the past glory of these places while they were in decline. Faced with this situation, it became imperative to take measures to revitalize the reputation and appeal of this icon of French cinema. The Victorine Studios are being renovated to best adapt to the new demands of the cinema industry.
A fruitful collaboration
Today, this initiative is coming to fruition. With the arrival of new players, seasoned professionals who bring a fresh perspective by identifying the real needs of the studios. The president of the Nice Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) highlights the importance of this new direction, through the creation of the Victorine Studios. More than 550 productions were recorded in 2023, generating over 62 million euros in economic benefits. An equal number of productions are expected in 2024, suggesting that the cinematic potential of our region, which seems more evident than ever, is no longer in decline.
