Elected in the first round in 2008 with 69.84% of the votes, Gérard Grosgogeat succeeded Joseph Calderoni in 1995 (1977-1995) at the helm of the city possessing one of the most beautiful harbors in the world. “I remain a municipal councilor because I wish to oversee the realization of my projects.” Therefore, during the next municipal council meeting, the communal assembly will elect its new Mayor, and it seems evident that Jean-Pierre Mangiapan, a native of Villefranche and General Councilor, is the logical favorite to occupy this position. “It seems normal and legitimate to me that my First Deputy, Jean-Pierre Mangiapan, succeeds me as Mayor. He is a prominent elected official, General Councilor, which allows him to have an audience with the Deputy-Mayor of Nice, the President of the Alpes-Maritimes General Council, and CANCA.”
A new dynamic will thus be introduced into the Azur political scene with the arrival of Jean-Pierre Mangiapan as Mayor, alongside the establishment of a new Urban Community which will include this newly elected official.
Nice Premium will soon offer you an extensive video interview with Jean-Pierre Mangiapan through its editorialist, Jean-Luc Vannier.
