Virginie Rossetti opens up just hours before one of the biggest events for the red and black club at a Stade de France that will, for the first time, resonate with the verses of “Nissa la Bela”.
Always faithful to the club of her heart, she now acts as its communication conduit, with a passion that characterizes her so well.
So Virginie… are you happy?
Nice Première: It’s the big day. What’s the atmosphere like within the red and black house?
Virginie Rossetti: Everyone deals with the event in their own way… but when our eyes meet, we know we’re all thinking the same thing… everyone at the Club is already fully involved…
NP: You are a passionate fan of Gym, how would you describe the team this year?
VR: Even when the results were sluggish at the beginning of the season, I felt that something had changed and it was going to pay off… even if the finishing was lacking, a true foundational gameplay had emerged… honestly, I have thoroughly enjoyed many moments this season! Hoping for the cherry on top Saturday night!!!!
NP: What would be, in your opinion, the perfect course of the match?
VR: The course of the match matters little to me… all I want to see is Cédric lifting the Cup at the end, hopefully within 90 minutes and not after a shootout!!! My heart already suffered too much in ’97!!!
NP: Antonetti, a good magician of the fields, right?
VR: I greatly respect him and internally thank him for everything he has brought to the Club… it shows that hard work is the only key… and there’s no one more hardworking than that man!! Add talent to that and you’re all set!
A final tough confrontation, bizarre statements, a challenging SNCF… Really a warrior’s journey to get to the final?
We have kept our heads down and everything that has happened has motivated us even more… we cannot lose!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NP: What will you do in case of a victory?
VR: First of all, I think about celebrating with all the people who work in this Club and give their all every day… we have really worked like crazy!!! To celebrate with the players, the leaders…and of course with all the people of Nice!!!
NP: Who would you like to see score at the Stade de France?
VR: I’m thinking of Chouf… he even promised me!))) but if it’s Lloris scoring from a clearance…I’ll take it…
