Volleyball: Nice Returns to Success

Latest News

Nice Volley Ball secured a victory on Friday night at home against Asniรจres. Mladen Kasic’s men won 3 sets to 1. The Nice team returned to success after two defeats. This victory also allows them to strengthen their second place in the Ligue B standings.

An end of set poorly negotiated

The start of the match is balanced between the two teams. But at 4 all, the Nice team decides to pick up the pace. With a strong serving sequence from Mirko Radevic, the Cรดte d’Azur players destabilize Asniรจres’ reception. The visitors struggle to establish their play, and the Nice team stays ahead throughout the set.

But after the second technical timeout, the Nice machine falters. Raphael Corre, the captain and setter of Nice Volley Ball, can no longer find solutions in attack. The Asniรจres players take advantage by chaining blocks and winning attacks. They edge out Nice by a narrow margin and win the first set 25-21.

Seppanen’s awakening

Shy in the first set, Finnish receiver-attacker Niklas Seppanen decides to take matters into his own hands. He scores 4 of Nice’s first 8 points in this second set.

Mladen Kasic’s men are once again in the lead, but this time they don’t falter at the end of the set. Driven by their two Serbian center players, Mirko Radevic and Nemanja Cubrillo, they manage to widen the gap and win the set with a score of 25-16.

Nice confirms its dominance

Solid in blocking, reception, and attack, Nice excels in the last two sets. Both were won with a score of 25-18.

The trio of Seppanen (9 points), Radevic (6 points), Cubrillo (8 points) with the support of setter Raphael Corre were the main instigators of this victory.

Next meeting for Nice Volley Ball is next Saturday in Saint Quentin.
