Volleyball: Nice wins in Ajaccio (3-1)

Latest News

The return of Volley Nice to their court couldn’t have gone better: a great performance and clear victory in front of a large crowd!

The match lasted only 2 sets, fiercely contested by both teams: the Nice team won the first set 28-26, while the islanders took the second 25-23.

This balance suggested a tight continuation. But that was not the case: while the Nice players showed determination and brilliance at times, the Ajaccio team gradually lost track of their game (and most of the individual duels, with a few blocks by Rodney Ah-Kong, who was welcomed back by his fans after a six-year exile in Rennes, sparking general enthusiasm) and they could no longer keep up with the locals, who were on a promising path for the rest of the season. The match was wrapped up with two unremarkable partial scores: 25-19, 25-21. Overbeek scored 21 points, Ah-Kong 14, and Bartos 13, being the most prolific among the young “blues.”

Mladen Kasic, leading a veritable international selection, could smile and already think about the trip to Tourcoing, a more significant test before the Azurean derby against Cannes.
