This Saturday, for the 20th day of the championship, the Eagles traveled to Paris, a direct competitor for the top 8. Unfortunately, the team from Nice lost 3 sets to 1.
Nice was unable to contain the onslaught, losing in four sets to a more realistic Parisian team. From the start of the match, there was a noticeable contrast in styles. Paris, well-organized and focused, quickly took control of the game. The Niçois, although combative, could not find a solution against the strength of the Parisian game, particularly in attack.
Paris in Strength from the Start
The first two sets were close. Paris showed great composure at the end of the set, especially in the first, where they took the lead 25-23. The second set, won 25-21, was marked by a more nervous Nice, unsuccessfully trying to counter Parisian attacks. Despite a few technical errors, the capital’s team managed to keep a slight lead.
The third set marked a (small) turning point in the match. Nice, driven by the need to react, managed to find their rhythm. With more fluidity in play and better management of transition phases, Nice managed to challenge their opponent and win this set 25-19. This resurgence added some suspense to the match, but it did not last.
Control of the Match for the Parisians
In the fourth set, Paris immediately regained control of the exchanges. More consistent in crucial moments, the Parisians demonstrated their experience by exploiting every weakness of Nice. Despite the efforts from the Nice players, the set ended with a score of 25-20 in favor of Paris, thus concluding the match with a clear and deserved victory.
