L’ONN won the first leg of a semi-final with flair, even though predictions leaned more towards their opponents, who finished first in the regular season standings.
However, the fighting spirit of the Nice team, which tends to bring out their best performances on big occasions, was not taken into account.
Coached by an outstanding Michal Idzinski, the team from the Côte d’Azur started the match with determination, immediately taking the advantage and maintaining it until the final whistle, as the scoreline clearly shows: 3-2; 5-3; 8-6; 9-8.
The home team even created a break at 9-6, before facing a response from the Strasbourg team who scored two goals but failed to equalize.
